Buying Moondancer Oysters Online: FAQs

How are the oysters shipped? 

We ship our oysters in eco-friendly insulated boxes (ClimaCell) with at least 2 reusable gel ice-packs. Larger orders may contain more than 2 ice-packs to ensure all oysters in the shipment arrive cold. These containers are 100% curbside recyclable and ensure that your oysters stay cold for the journey to your door. 

We offer Free shipping to all New England addresses. 

We offer UPS Next day Air services for all other lower 48 addresses in the US.

What is your refund policy? 

Ship happens...and when it does we want to do whatever it takes to make it right for our valued customers. If your package is delayed for any reason and does not arrive the day after it has been shipped please contact us through our online store immediately <store@mookseafarm.com> . We offer the option to replace your order with a fresh one, free of any additional charges, shipped whenever you would like. We also offer the option of a full refund for your order. Additionally, if we make a mistake on your order we will work with you to find an appropriate response. 

The ice-packs in my shipment arrived melted and warm, are the oysters still okay to eat? 

If your oysters arrive with warm and melted ice-packs please reach out to us through our online store immediately <store@mookseafarm.com>. The ice-packs and the oysters should be cold when they are delivered, and they should not be consumed if they arrive warm. The risk of consuming raw oysters that have been kept at warm temperatures is too great for us to recommend eating them. We will work with you to ensure that you get a full refund or a replacement shipment. 

Can you ship the oysters so that they arrive on a weekend day? 

Due to the shipping schedule set by our shipping providers, we cannot arrange to have deliveries made on the weekend. If we shipped our oysters on a Friday, they would be held at a warehouse facility over the weekend and be inedible by the time they would get delivered on the following Monday. 

How do I arrange to pick-up oysters at the farm? 

We are open for in-store pick-up Monday-Friday, 9am-1pm. Simply place an order through our online store and select the "pick-up" option when checking out. You will be prompted to fill out the "delivery date" calendar (that is designed for shipments only) and we ask that you select any date that satisfies that field AND "Leave a Note" letting us know when you will stop by to pick up your order. You will come to the large brown building and enter through the door labeled "OYSTERS." One of our staff will assist in getting your order to you.
